A Ponzi Scheme That Works

A  Ponzi Scheme That Works. The greatest strength of America is that people want to live here.

The American people are not anti-immigrant. We are concerned about the lack of coherence in our immigration policy and enforcement. ~ Chris Cannon

Immigration to America is still every non-Americans dream. It’s predicted that by the year 2050 the total number of Americans will be 500 Million and by the year 2100 the total population of Americans will be 1 Billion.  Most of the increase will come from immigration not organic growth such as birth or increase in longevity for America. The follow is a very good article written in The Economist (12/17/09). The article was factually written and explains the long term positive effects for our economy.

Time To Fold, Don’t Reinforce Failure

Time To Fold, Don’t Reinforce Failure

“Government’s view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving,  subsidize it”

Ronald Reagan quotes (American 40th US President (1981- 89), 1911-2004)

This article is a heartbreaker for the homeowners keeping their heads above water and for all those where their homes have been foreclosed. See why you shouldn’t be relying on the Government to bail you out….

“The Obama team had hoped that their programme, Making Home Affordable, would save as many as 4m families from foreclosure. Unfortunately, the Treasury admitted in October that only 500,000 loans have so far been rescheduled, and a congressional panel has more recently pointed out that all but around 2,000 of those adjustments were only short-term ones. This has prompted more action from the administration, which announced a new mortgage-modification drive on November 30th. The changes to the programme, however, appear to be little more than tinkering.”

The Twelve Days Of Christmas

There is one Christmas Carol that has always baffled me.  What in the world do leaping lords, French hens, swimming swans, and especially the partridge who won’t come out of the pear tree have to do with Christmas?

This week, I found out.

From 1558 until 1829, Roman Catholics in England were not permitted to practice their faith openly. Someone during that era wrote this carol as a catechism song for young Catholics.. It has two levels of meaning: the surface meaning plus a hidden meaning known only to members of their church. Each element in the carol has a code word for a religious reality which the children could remember.

-The partridge in a pear tree was Jesus Christ.

-Two turtle doves were the Old and New Testaments.

-Three French hens stood for faith, hope and love.-

-The four calling birds were the four gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke & John.

-The five golden rings recalled the Torah or Law, the first five books of the Old Testament.

-The six geese a-laying stood for the six days of creation.

-Seven swans a-swimming represented the sevenfold gifts of the Holy Spirit–Prophesy, Serving, Teaching, Exhortation, Contribution, Leadership, and Mercy.

-The eight maids a-milking were the eight beatitudes.

-Nine ladies dancing were the nine fruits of the Holy Spirit–Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self Control.

-The ten lords a-leaping were the ten commandments.

-The eleven pipers piping stood for the eleven faithful disciples.

-The twelve drummers drumming symbolized the twelve points of belief in the Apostles’ Creed.

So there is your history for today. This knowledge was shared with me and I found it interesting and enlightening and now I know how that strange song became a Christmas Carol…so pass it on if you wish.’

Merry Christmas Everyone
