Don’t let yourself be lulled into inaction.”

-Bill Gates

Rebuilding Corporate America

America restoration of faith in Corporate America will require change and action, commitment and vigilance, time and patience. It must happen and now is the time to pick up the pace.

These words summarize what Americans really want most in from their employers:

Change in the way things are run in the workplace

Action rather then just words.

Commitment to actually get it done

Vigilance to ensure that old ways never return

Time to adjust to the economic transformation

Patience with our people as they learn and adapt

Americans love to work and we all love the idea that we love to work. It’s fostered from our entrepreneurial spirit, democratic way of government and our economic system of capitalism. We pride ourselves on our productivity, we work to produce enough food to feed the world, we produce technology and transform the world and we create small businesses that create more jobs.

Once the train leaves the station we drive ourselves to success. We realize that to succeed our number one priority is to be informed, we realize you need to say what you mean and mean what you say, we set the context of an objective and explain why, we communicate everywhere to our customers, we realize communication delayed is communication denied and we link our customer satisfaction to our own satisfaction. These lessons cannot be strategies, they have to be culture. It isn’t enough to adopt these lessons just before you sign a contract with your customer, it has to be a core component of the large corporation employees or small business person 365 days a year.

Access yourself or your Corporation, make the change and practice it. America, realize what you have to change and just do it!

- Muhammad Ali

Entrepreneurship and The New American Dream

The single greatest change over the past 50 years in workplace attitudes is the slow shift of viewing your job as an opportunity to viewing it as security. Look at the stats over the past five years and see how many jobs were lost in this country. No wonder why 1 out of 6 employees are search for home businesses. We’re capitalists and entrepreneurs because we have the freedom of choice. We expect and demand a “Liaise Fair” attitude from our government when it comes to our business. The Kaufman Foundation concluded from a survey that there’s more respect for entrepreneurs then CEO’s of successful corporation. Distribution of attitudes looked like this:

The question was if you had to choose would you prefer to be?

80% The Owner of a Successful Small Business You started That employees 100 People

14% The CEO of a Fortune 500 Company That Employees More Than 10,000 People

6% Don’t Know

Our educational systems aren’t focusing on individualism and fostering entrepreneurial individuals. The Kaufman Foundation surveyed older adults and the vast majority of them believed strongly that entrepreneurship should be taught or encouraged in high schools and universities.

81% Said, universities and high schools should actively develop entrepreneurial skills in students.

77% Said, the state and federal governments should encourage entrepreneurs through tax laws and their actions.

70% Said, the success and health of our economy depends on it.

Lawmakers need to be reminded that today’s entrepreneurial ventures started out small and grew despite bureaucracy and regulations, not because of it. We want the right to:

Freedom to choose when, where and how to work or run a business; the freedom to try and fail and try again; the freedom to follow your dreams wherever they take you; and the freedom to live your own life on your own terms. Simple isn’t it?

“Ninety-eight percent of the adults in this country are decent, hard-working, honest Americans. It’s the other lousy two percent that get all the publicity. But then–we elected them.”

- Lily Thomlin

Where has all the sanity gone in America and the world? President Barrack Obama received the Noble Prize for Peace!! Blame, we have no one but to blame but ourselves for this fallacy. Don’t be disheartened though under this great republic we have the right to change the people we have placed in these political positions through the process of voting.

My blog will try and help you put America in perspective from my interpretations and opinions, allow you to understand who we are, what I think we really need and why our country and our freedom will survive and thrive in this century just as we did in the last century. I will with my blog provide you with information about:

Americas Hopes, Dreams and Fears – Even at our worst economic times and threats to our way of life we still have optimism, dreams and can overcome our projected and real fears.

What Americans really want in their daily lives.

Things that really matter to Americans.

American Jobs – What we really want.

What we really want from our Government.

Future Generations and our effect as to what we do today.

Americans outlook on the plans they made for their retirement (80 Million Baby Boomer in the next 10 years plan or planned to retire) and how they’ve changed.

What Americans really need now to overcome this economic downturn and social evolution.

You may have lost your job which is one of the major corner stones of a persons life and their worth, don’t be disheartened (you may be saying easy for him to say, I can’t even make the next rent payment or I’m struggling to put food on the table), but you should be looking at these dips in life as opportunities to force you to reassess your skills, assets (not necessarily financial) and the direction you were heading, as well as, alter the course of that direction to get you to move forward again.

My Blog will be published daily and it’s not a winning lottery ticket but read it and use the information for your best interest to get your life on track and moving forward with that American ‘Can Do’ attitude.

More to come, so come on back!
