Freedom and Socialism Don’t Mix

One of the consequences of such notions as “entitlements” is that people who have contributed nothing to society feel that society owes them something, apparently just for being nice enough to grace us with their presence.
Thomas Sowell quotes (American Writer and Economist, b.1930)

“Socialism is workable only in heaven where it isn’t needed, and in hell where they’ve got it

Freedom and Socialism Don’t Mix

 ObamaDemocraticSocialism

For more than fifty years American presidents and Congress have attempted to mix socialism with our capitalist system to make it fairer. We have taken a lot of the candy earned by top performers and created federal programs to distribute candy to those who didn’t earn it. But socialism and capitalism don’t work well together. Socialist policies dramatically increase government spending and debt, siphoning wealth and productivity from the private sector. Government intrusion into the free market has under mined personal responsibility, reduced incentives to work and save, and insulated people and businesses from the consequences of bad decisions.

It is actually quite amazing that there is any debate in America on the value of freedom versus socialism. The collapse of the Soviet Union was a definitive rejection of the principles of a socialized economy and culture. China and India were backward economies until capitalism began to raise the standard of living for its citizens (although China doesn’t accord their people a democracy or human rights). There is no example in the world or the standard of living of their citizens. There is no example in the world or from any time in history where the principles of socialism actually worked.

What is your opinion, please answer this question:

Entrepreneurship and The New American Dream

The single greatest change over the past 50 years in workplace attitudes is the slow shift of viewing your job as an opportunity to viewing it as security. Look at the stats over the past five years and see how many jobs were lost in this country. No wonder why 1 out of 6 employees are search for home businesses. We’re capitalists and entrepreneurs because we have the freedom of choice. We expect and demand a “Liaise Fair” attitude from our government when it comes to our business. The Kaufman Foundation concluded from a survey that there’s more respect for entrepreneurs then CEO’s of successful corporation. Distribution of attitudes looked like this:

The question was if you had to choose would you prefer to be?
