Here’s What Americans Really Want From Health Care.

Photo Credit: Neil Parekh/SEIU Healthcare 775NW

It’s apropos that I’m presenting this information to you today, whereas the House Of Representatives in Washington are trying to force through a vote for the Health Care Bill HR3962 before they go home for this Fridays long weekend in honor of Veterans Day. Most of our elected congressmen would like to have this vote completed so they won’t have to face their constituents and answer some of the hard questions they may have for them. If the bill is voted on and passed in the House it’s now the Senates headache. Just one more thing before I get today’s blog here’s a summary of the Bill HR3962 Socialized Medicine and what it has written in it:

Raises taxes on middle class families

Makes significant cuts to Medicare

Taxes small businesses that have 17 or more employees

Taxes current insurance policies that will be passed on to patients in higher premiums
Penalizes states like California for having medical malpractice reform laws on the books

States may have to be left paying for unfunded mandates as more Americans go on the government plan by expanding Medicaid eligibility (a federal-state partnership)

If you want to have your opinion voiced get on the phone today and call your local Representative, go to the website and find your representative and call them…….

Let them know what you really want and let them know if they go against your wishes that they might as well start packing next year when their term is up because the majority of voters will make sure they are not re-elected. Here’s a sample of what Americans really want when it comes to health care:

The Medical Professionals are in charge

People are the primary concern not paperwork

Health Care is about rights, not privileges

Power equals portability – carry your health care plan from one job to another

Health care quality is having access to the treatment you need, when you need it.

Humanize your approach

Banished forever should be all the health care systems, providers and networks. Thereby, letting the Dr’s treat their patients as human beings not numbers.

Success Tip

Seniors, middle age and younger generations take control, prepare, and live a full healthy life by calling your congressmen now and also increasing your income and financial stability in this Business.

~	Paul McCartney (composed when he was 24 years old)

Seniors always carry two things in their pockets: photos of their grandchildren and random dog-eared clippings of the news they think is important. The older we get the easier it is to forget. So if you want to get retirees to engage in a conversation about reforming social security or the health care system there is only one way to do it, have them look at the pictures of their grandchildren while discussing the relevant issues.

For most older people when they’re looking at their grand kids they can’t bring themselves to ask the youngsters to sacrifice for them. It just goes against everything that comes with being a parent or grandparent-we do what we have to so our offspring can have better lives not the other way around. When Social Security was created in 1935, the average adult didn’t live long enough to collect benefits. Today, they’ve twenty years left to live and they plan on living them to their fullest.-That’s a lot of purchasing power for services, health and even starting 2nd careers.

Some people look at older Americans and see a monolithic population. Based on the age group of our senior population we need to view and market to them differently. If you don’t understand the differences you won’t know how to reach them, pitch them or convince them. The differences can be grouped as follows:

• The Greatest Generation (born before 1929).

They may not remember the worst of the depression but they new hard times in the late 1930’s and knew the great depression.

• The War Kids (born 1929—1939).

This was the generation that was old enough to live through the hardship of war, but they missed about everything else. They missed the great depression and were out of the house before their parents bought their first TV. They also were out of college before Elvis and the rise of Rock‘n’Roll.

•	The Newly Retired (1939-1946).

This is the first wave of the Baby Boomer Generation that populates this group a bit older, a bit more traditional and conservative. They were part of the 60’s and the sexual revolution, they invested in stocks and real estate were riding high and are now screwed. They are working to supplement their income in retirement and view the next 20 years of their lives a a career change. They are the best educated and motivated to build a new career.

Success Tips

This newly retired generation of baby boomers is a gold mine to marketers They are still likely to remodel their homes; they still have an average of two leased vehicles; they will still sign petitions and vote; they are likely to play the lottery; they would invest in a home business as a 2nd career; they’re likely to take a long vacation; they will spend more money than all their children – combined. Take these items and market to this generation this business

All the neurons in the brain that make up perceptions and emotions operate in a binary fashion.”

- Bill Gates

2020 Generation (conclusions)

The 2020 Generation to all but them are viewed as techno junkies, nerds, self-centered, impersonal, a generation that feels they’re entitled to, antiestablishment, ‘etc., etc., etc’(as Yul Bryner said in the classic movie ‘The King and I”). But, America wake up this is our future generation of Americans and quoting the great 20th Century icon Winston Churchill ‘I don’t trust any person who wasn’t compassionate and liberal in their ideals as a young person, even though as they aged they became more conservative’. This generation has evolved and integrated technology into their daily lives to improve it and see it as a tool just as a well rounded education was seen to the previous generations. ‘Give Peace a Chance’ as John Lennon sang, give this generation a chance.

This generation has a greater sense of unity and community among themselves than any other generation- and it’s more than superficial. From politics to economics to social causes they have embraced those who embrace them, and reject those who would seek to divide them. Don’t tell them what’s wrong with the competition, tell them what’s right about you. To understand the priorities and principles needed to reach them as our fellow Americans and customers if you’re in business, understand their language they live by:

Adventure – It’s the positive terminology that describes the day to day difficulties of this generation in these atypical economic times.

Boring Conformity – This generation hates the status-quo and is almost antiestablishment as the youth of the 1960’s were, but in a less overt and more constructive way.

Champion – they don’t only champion a cause they commit and make it their mission.

Diversity – is what they are living and working for regionally, attitudinal and demographically.

Focused Creativity – focused creativity is more relevant and more structured.

Freedom – Freedom is the core underlying principle that differentiates those who follow conventional wisdom from those who break it.

Inspire – more emotional than tangible, but is universally more appealing to this generation.

Shatter Expectations – you don’t just exceed expectations you shatter them to pieces.

Success Tip

For those of you that are entrepreneurial and want to market to this generation take heed and use this information to capture the 2020 Generation as a consumer of your products. For the 2020 Generation feel free to go to the home based business to practice how you want to live.

- Bill Gates

2020 Generation (Part 3)

The Internet Habits of the 2020 Generation

This will help you understand their profile or how the technology addiction with the 2020 Generation is used and is certainly part of their uniqueness form previous generations of Americans. Web behavior is certainly a part of their life that touches everything they do in work, play, education, socialization and interaction with the opposite sex. These habits or profile that which are summed up below is just a observations not condemnation and is another example of their uniqueness.

They can be categorized for how they use the web info five distinct categories:

The Posting Junkie – These are incurable internet surfers. They participate in the latest trends. They’re the engine behind the latest fads. They don’t create the trends, but they give fresh trends the vigor by turning on their friends “Hey Check this out”…. The way the 60’s generation turned one another onto music and hallucinogens..

The Utilitarian – Their online activities are primarily used to enhance both socially and financially their offline activities. They conduct business within their online network , for example they will blog daily or interact to a blog for free concert tickets if they could obtain them. Hey nothing wrong with that entrepreneurial or capitalistic spirit.

The Gamer – These people are narrowly focused on their own special interests. They might focus on trance and techno music, Asian culture, or fantasy sports. Their interests are an inch wide and a mile deep. They are the ones pressing the establishment sound familiar Baby Boomers. They are online gamers like World of Warcraft or Grand Theft Auto. To Marketers find a way to affiliate with these games or websites for these games and you’ll extend your reach.

The TV Junkie – They’re driven by humor. They watched TV growing up sitting for entire sessions of humor, the Family Guy or The Simpsons……. They’ve evolved to the humor of the Daily Show or The Colbert Report, but they’re not wedded to professional content. They are open to any comedic or funny videos and scour the internet for this type of media. They will pass it on when they find to their friends on their social networks. REACH THESE PEOPLE AND THEY’LL SPREAD YOUR CONTENT FAR AND WIDE.

The Internet Rookie – This legion uses the internet because they have to not because they want to. It’s a means rather than an end to a specific result. They go online to find what they want and then sign off. For the marketer use the KISS (keep it simple stupid) message, then you’ll be able to balance them as a guidepost for a new product.

Success Tip:

These internet users of the 2020 Generation are being fed the social networks and are living and thriving and growing on them. In 2009 for the first time this age group spent more time infront of the web then in front of the TV. Utilize and catch the wave for these social networks

Facebook

Twitter

MySpace

Linkedin

Classmates.com

- Bill Gates

2020 Generation Continued……

The 2020 generation is more accepting of ad based advertisement than previously assumed. They grew up with ads, and don’t rebel against advertisements online or on their wireless gadgets. They grew up with ads and they expect them. However, they do not want to be entertained while waiting for their content. If the ads are lame like you see on TV, their attitude is they will be checking their messages during the next thirty seconds while waiting for the program they accessed. This is a key distinction. Do not make an impatient attention span with the lack thereof.

To deliver an effective ad to this generation, today’s ad must be louder, faster, funnier and sometimes even darker it’s no longer enough to put an advertising message into a young person’s head it has to be EXTRODINARY. It has to stop them cold, otherwise it will have no resonance and staying power because of all the other messages they are reading, texting, and trying to absorb and respond to. Remember as a marketer or advertiser your communicating to a techno junkie addicted to all the information whirling on the web. The 2020 Generation are so random and inconsistent and their experiences are less deep and more fickle, which leads them to float from message to message and product to product.

Success Tip:

The success tip today is just an expansion of yesterdays first two success tip (see blog 2020 Generation).

Make the ad a thirty second show unto itself. If you insist on the same length as a TV, give me a theme, a plot and characters I care about and I’ll pay attention. See the latest LEVI ’s commercial airing on TV?

Make it interactive. Give the users a chance to play with the ad content: a website with additional information or clues or the chance to vote on a derived outcome.

2020 Generation

The world of the 2020 generation is a unique and so are they. Put simply the 2020 Generation are individuals born between 1980 and 1991. They are drastically less then like their parents Gen-Xers are like theirs. Politically, technically, economically socially kids today are growing up with expectations, assumptions, and experiences that simply did not exist thirty years ago. Born between 1980 and 1991 they are too young to remember Vietinam, Arab Oil Embargos, Iranian Hostage taking and Ronal Reagan. What they will never forget though is the loss of personal security from 9/11 and the collapse of their economic security in 2008.

More specifically, this 2020 Generation differs from the previous generations in last half of the last century in many ways but can be summed up into five traits they all display:

Immediate Gratification- demand, command, big hurry, no patience

Ongoing Happiness – Resistance to negative ideas, thoughts

The decreasing importance of religion- 87 percent see the financial system, federal government, educational system and business more important than religion

The value of equality – the most important behind opportunity, justice and democracy

No News is….no news.- Only 1/4th of 2020 Generation spends about an hour aday with news. All other generations are double that figure.

Success Tip

What does this all mean if you’re in a home business and are marketing anything to this generation follow these simple rules:

Make the ad a 30 second show unto itself.

Make the advertisement interactive.

Connect it with the content they’re waiting for. Make it a seamless experience.

Make it special with bonus clips, secret footage, etc…..

What Americans Really Want of their Government

In these challenging financial times, ask yourself would you rather have Congress commit to:

End wasteful government spending

No new taxes

Balance the budget

Protect the value of home ownership

Put a freeze on Government spending

Cut 5% of government agencies and spending

In focus groups throughout the fall presidential elections and into 2009 after the elections, the toughest hardest hit communities all had the same question, “when will it end?” Americans knew the CEO’s made mistakes that created crisis were being rewarded. They knew Wall Street guys were still collecting or trying to collect their multi-million dollar bonuses. They knew corporate leaders were still attending lavish retreats as though nothing happened. And it was –and is all bought and paid for by the US tax payers.

With taxpayer dollars in their pockets big corporations are still moving ahead with their frivolity of putting their tainted names in big bold letters on athletic stadiums.

Citibank is paying the NY Mets $400 million dollars of tax payers money over the next two decades to name their new stadium Citi Field.

AIG, beneficiary of more then two bailouts is paying $125 million to Manchester United to put their corporate logo on the soccer team’s jerseys.

Bank of America has cut a deal for $140 million with Carolina Panthers to put its name on the team’s football arena.

America do you think this is a good way to spend American tax payer dollars? In a free enterprise or a system practicing capitalism do you think you should be pressing the congress and executive branch of government to account for and make public every dollar that was spent on these corporations? Beyond a doubt Barrack Obama and George W. Bush has accomplished what Ronald Reagan, Newt Gingrich, and two generations of Republicans failed to do: They have proven beyond a doubt that Washington doesn’t work.

Tip Of The Day: Start investigating now for you to take control of your financial independence, control your personal time and never set an alarm clock again by clicking here for a home based business
